Client: Trump International Golf Links

Project: Temporary Club House and Macleod House

Location: Aberdeenshire

North Group were appointed as main contractor for the erection of the Temporary Golf House at Balmedie for Trump International Golf Links Scotland.

North were responsible for all aspects of the project, commencing with the substructure up fill of the ground to provide the perfect vantage point for the clubhouse. A concrete ground floor slab was then poured, followed by the erection of a kit framed superstructure clad externally with cedar linings.

The fit out then progressed, whereby our joinery workshop manufactured bespoke fittings, including the bar, pro shop, cash desk, lockers, vanity units, framed mirrors, fixed seating, administration units and restaurant table tops. The finishing trades completed the project with the laying of floor coverings and decoration.

Following on from the successful completion of the temporary golf house, North were appointed to manufacture and install a new oak entrance door, internal glazed and panelled pass doors, stair balustrade and bar, as well as other bespoke items, for Macleod House, Donald Trump's Scottish residence.

Manufactured in our Aberdeen workshop from American White Oak, the bespoke balustrade highlights the intricate detailing that can be achieved from our CNC machine to beautiful effect.

The bar, designed by our in-house designer, is also manufactured from American White Oak and set-off by stunning granite tops, while the grand entrance door is manufactured from European Oak and compliments the beautifully renovated home perfectly.

Project: Glazed Partitioning and Shopfitting Joinery

Location: Aberdeen

Barr Construction, the main contractor for this project, appointed North Group to install glazed screens and manufacture bespoke joinery items. As an approved installer of Optima Partitions our skilful workforce fitted the specified glazed screen system throughout the complex.

Aberdeen Sports Village was created to provide a wide range of sports to the local community. Our experienced joinery workshop fabricated the reception desks, trophy cabinets and oversized portholes to a very high quality finish which can be seen by the many people who use the popular facility.

Project: Shop fit out

Location: Inverness

Having successfully assisted Attic Clothing in the fit out of their store in the Academy Shopping Centre in Aberdeen, North were asked again to work with them as sole contractor and designer in the fit out of their new Inverness store.

From the initial client brief, our design team developed a concept that was unique and in line with the Attic Clothing brand, using the Aberdeen store as a successful precedent. The work included the manufacture, supply and installation of timber shelving, panelling, hanging displays, changing rooms and free wall areas, together with electrical and decoration works.

Client: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Project: Refurbishment of existing ward

Location: Aberdeen

UCAN, a charity set up to raise awareness of urological cancers, commissioned North Group to refurbish an existing ward at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary into a dedicated day room for patients and their families affected with urological cancers. Our role in the refurbishment was to manufacture and install bespoke furniture, coffee bar areas, doors and glazed screen.

Our high standard and commitment to craftsmanship and excellence is evident in this project and North Group is proud to have been part of the refurbishment team which helped create this fundamentally important place.

In recognition of the UCAN charity and their vision for this centre of excellence, North Group was delighted to play a major role in this refurbishment project, through UCAN’s vision, by completing the entire works free of charge.

Client: Café Coast, Inspire

Project: Manufactured Joinery Work

Location: Aberdeen

“Café Coast” is located within Inspire’s multi-resource centre on Aberdeen’s Beach Boulevard. The café is a social enterprise of Inspire with the aim of promoting training and employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

Bancon Construction, main contractor for the project, appointed North Group to manufacture and install the curved wall, display cabinets, reception desk, server counter and artwork display cases which can be seen throughout the café.

Project: Office refurbishment works

Location: Aberdeen

North Group were appointed as main contractor for the refurbishment works at ABB's new offices in Hareness Road, Altens, Aberdeen.

The building required a complete overhaul, both internally and externally. From the initial strip out works, floors to ceilings, partitions to painting and decorating, the building was completely transformed.

Works also included the manufacture of several bespoke joinery items, including a reception desk, doors and skirting.

Project: Alba North Fit Out

Location: Alba North

North Group undertook the refurbishment of the Level 2 TV and Games Room and the Level 4 Admin Lounge on the Chevron Alba North Platform. This followed previous successful projects on the platform, which included the refurbishment of the Mess Hall and Level 1 Offices.

The works within the TV and Games room involved the manufacture and installation of entertainment units to accommodate an LCD TV, complete with additional storage and an integrated computer workstation to aid safety meetings and presentations.

On top of this we also manufactured and installed a bespoke beverage counters, which were topped with black quartz Corian, which produced a high quality finish. Amtico flooring was also supplied and installed in both Level 2 & Level 4, again ensuring a high quality finish. In addition, a particular requirement of the client was to include a greetings sign, including their welcoming message and operator’s logo.
