Estimating Assistant

General Outline of Role Provide administrative support within the Estimating Department. Working hours: 16 hours per week, primarily Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8am–5pm (flexibility available). Key Responsibilities, Duties & Tasks. Work closely with and support the Estimating and Surveying team. Liaise with Contract Managers. Log new Tender Enquiries and Invitations to Tender (ITT) into the tender database. Update the tender database as required. Create new tender enquiry folders and save all ITT documents electronically. Split Bill of Quantities (BoQ) tender documents and issue to subcontractors and suppliers for pricing. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers regarding queries. Collate tender quotations received from subcontractors and suppliers. Chase and review subcontractor and supplier quotations. Source suppliers for materials. Compile and issue Operation & Maintenance Manuals. Assist with QHSE matters. Person Specification – Key Competencies, Skills, Experience & Training Requirements. Strong organisational skills Excellent communication and listening skills. Ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Able to work within tight deadlines. Capable of working independently and as part of a team. Competent computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Willingness and ability to learn new tasks. No previous experience is essential, as full in-house training will be provided.
